Gear that I like enough to let others know about...

Fly fishing (and tying) is a hobby of accumulation. There is so much gear out there it is hard to decide what you actually need and what you need to carry with you to the river. Here you will find some select products that I would recommend based on experience.

Cling Mini Magnetic Patch

I picked up a Cling Mini Mag at the Denver Fly Fishing Show and immediately put it to use. Now I find it indispensable for holding small flies in between changing my nymphing rigs. Whether I have it on my sleeve or attached to my sling, it helps reduce the time it takes to remove or tie on new flies without fear of dropping one and losing it. Less time rigging up equals more time with your line wet and drifting down the river.

O'Pro's Belt Clip Rod Holder

When rigging up mid-stream or taking a quick photo of a beautiful fish in your net, this rod holder that clips on your wader belt is a true time saver. Easy to secure and remove the rod when you want to free both hands. I also love being able to fish with one rod set up to nymph and have another set up with dries in the rod holder pointing behind me so I can switch quickly when a hatch occurs. If you are looking for a "third hand", give this one a try.

Fly Shop of Choice: Arbor Anglers

For my fly tying materials, my go to shop is Arbor Anglers in Lafayette, Colorado. James and his team provide great service and he has continually improved and expanded his inventory of materials which I really appreciate. Arbor Anglers also hosts a wide variety of educational opportunities and fly tying instructional classes. If you are in the area and need to pick up some gear, please consider Arbor Anglers.
