Founder and Head Fly Tyer of Shagworthy Fly Company.

I started this "company" basically to brand the flies I tie for my Fiji brothers, friends, friends of friends, and coworkers, and to have fun with making some merch with logos my son designed for me.

I have been tying flies since 2019 after falling in love with fly fishing and thinking it would save me money. While it certainly does not save me money, my flies do work and have been proven effective up and down the Rocky Mountains and for friends across the US.

FAVORITE ROD: I have two, my 9ft. 5wt. Douglas Sky G with Lamson Guru reel for dries, and my 10ft. 4wt. Moonshine Epiphany for nymphing

GO TO DRIES: Lately my favorite combination has been a hi-vis BWO parachute with a quill-body CDC mole fly or size 20 Chocolate Foam Emerger trailing in the film.

GO TO NYMPH RIG: For getting flies down low, I like using a weighted UV worm in the middle of my rig. At the top I like bead head pheasant tail or Copper John, and at the bottom a size 22-24 black zebra midge with a flash wing or size 20 beige or yellow-green Manhattan Midge
